We Are Blessed
We had such a wonderful Christmas- our last Christmas as a family of three. As we spent time with family on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I was reminded of how blessed we are. To celebrate this time with family, to eat wonderful food, to give and receive such nice gifts and to watch my child enjoy Christmas in our home where we have everything we need. We are SO blessed!
You woke up pretty early on Christmas morning and asked "open presents now?". You remembered from the night before when I told you that when you woke up we would open presents because it would be Christmas Day. You asked everyday leading up to Christmas if we could open presents that day so you were excited that the day was finally here.
It was so fun to see Christmas through your eyes this year. My heart was full watching how happy and excited you were:
So you picked out the first present that you wanted to open and you shook it, looked at me expectantly and asked, "fish crackers?". The next present you shook and asked, "cookies?". I guess those were the best things that you could think of because oh how you love your fish crackers and cookies. (Whenever you finish your dinner at night for "dessert" you want "fish crackers and cookies".)
The look on your face was priceless when Gigi and Pop gave you a trike for Christmas. Gigi told you to go open the closet and look inside. This was your face as you pulled your trike out of the closet into the living room to show:
Of course you immediately wanted to try it out even though it was SNOWING outside! And how could we not let you ride your brand new trike on Christmas morning. You got the hang of the pedals pretty quickly and had so much fun!
And we were all excited to see snow two days in a row! It actually snowed on Christmas Day which was really neat. It was beautiful and even though it didn't really stick we had to go out in it!
My little boy throwing a snowball at me:
Thank you Lord for all that we have. Thank you for our health and safety. Thank you for the love that is poured out all around us.
