Home

We got home from the hospital last Thursday and we are all so glad to be home. Emily is such a sweet baby and hardly ever cries. I am already amazed at how different Emily is from Jackson. When Jackson was a newborn he cried ALL the time! He cried when we changed his clothes, changed his diaper, gave him a bath, got hungry, when we laid him down, etc. Emily doesn't cry during any of these things. Her hunger cues are easy to read whereas Jackson was in all out screams within a matter of seconds of being hungry. At night, Emily eats then we lay her back down and she goes to sleep. After Jackson ate we would have to hold him and rock him for about an hour before he would go back to sleep. Here are some pictures of Emily going home from the hospital.

But first, a picture of Jackson going home from the hospital: (to prove my point)

And Emmy:

Jackson was sick most of last week so he was not able to come and see us at the hospital. Jackson wasn't able to meet Emmy until we got home....pictures of that later.

Love This Boy

We had a great day today and we are loving this unbelievable weather. Jackson has such a fun personality. Kevin taught him about a tickle fight and now he LOVES to run up to me and scream "tickle fight." It is so funny! And, "cookies" is not a new word to his vocabulary but a new favorite word. Everything is "cookies". We always sing a song before bed and tonight when he was asked what song he wanted to sing he said, "cookie song" and preceded to make up a song about cookies. It was too funny!

Highs and Lows

Some years we go all year without any snow. This year we've had our fair share of ice and snow. January started off with ice and snow as I posted earlier. Then at the end of January we had a beautiful spring like weekend with a high of 70! It sure gave us all spring fever. We enjoyed playing in the back yard and at the park. Now it's February and here we are with another snow day. Although, I love the Spring and prefer warm weather I am enjoying the beautiful white snow God gave us today. Jackson and I even got out in it some this morning. Here are some pictures of our weekend of "highs" in the 70's and "lows" with snow.

I am really enjoying this time with Jackson. While he still needs some disciplining at times he is really very obedient and tons of fun. It is so fun to have conversations with him these days. And he can sing! Usually it's just me singing songs to him but I recently discovered that he knows the words to lots of songs. His favorites are: Jesus Loves Me, Joy Joy Joy and He's Got the Whole World. It is so precious to watch and listen to his little singing voice.

Jackson is so independent these days, which is good since we are expecting our new little one very soon. He can take off his shoes, socks, pants and jacket. (We are still working on the shirt). He can wash his hands, brush his teeth, get into his car seat all by himself and take all of his dishes to the sink after eating. He is really excited about "helping Mommy" when the baby comes. I can't believe he is growing up so fast!
