We Are Blessed

We had such a wonderful Christmas- our last Christmas as a family of three. As we spent time with family on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I was reminded of how blessed we are. To celebrate this time with family, to eat wonderful food, to give and receive such nice gifts and to watch my child enjoy Christmas in our home where we have everything we need. We are SO blessed!

You woke up pretty early on Christmas morning and asked "open presents now?". You remembered from the night before when I told you that when you woke up we would open presents because it would be Christmas Day. You asked everyday leading up to Christmas if we could open presents that day so you were excited that the day was finally here.

It was so fun to see Christmas through your eyes this year. My heart was full watching how happy and excited you were:

So you picked out the first present that you wanted to open and you shook it, looked at me expectantly and asked, "fish crackers?". The next present you shook and asked, "cookies?". I guess those were the best things that you could think of because oh how you love your fish crackers and cookies. (Whenever you finish your dinner at night for "dessert" you want "fish crackers and cookies".)

The look on your face was priceless when Gigi and Pop gave you a trike for Christmas. Gigi told you to go open the closet and look inside. This was your face as you pulled your trike out of the closet into the living room to show:

Of course you immediately wanted to try it out even though it was SNOWING outside! And how could we not let you ride your brand new trike on Christmas morning. You got the hang of the pedals pretty quickly and had so much fun!

And we were all excited to see snow two days in a row! It actually snowed on Christmas Day which was really neat. It was beautiful and even though it didn't really stick we had to go out in it!

My little boy throwing a snowball at me:

Thank you Lord for all that we have. Thank you for our health and safety. Thank you for the love that is poured out all around us.

A White Christmas

Merry Christmas! I love that it snowed on Christmas! How often do we get snow on Christmas Day here in Alabama??? And it snowed ALL day- so pretty! I'll be back with more pictures but just wanted to share this one for now. The only thing you asked for for Christmas was a "bicycle" like Mommy and Daddy. It didn't matter that it was snowing out or that it was FREEZING you were all about riding your new trike.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

We're just enjoying the Christmas season around here... You love the Christmas tree, the lights and the ornaments. You talk about them nonstop every day!

You love to see all the Christmas lights at night when we are in the car. You'll say, "Mommy, Mommy, I see Christmas lights." And then after we pass those lights you'll say, "Mommy, more Christmas lights please." You are so polite. :) But you announce each new house that has Christmas lights with such excitement! I love how much you love it. Christmas time has definitely become more fun with you to enjoy it with!

Thankful

I know this post is a little late but we had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had Thanksgiving at our house this year and it was great. We really enjoyed having everyone over and some of our family had not seen our new house so that was a lot of fun. We had 12 adults and Jackson so it was definitely a full house. We have so much to be thankful for! I am so thankful for our house and the space that we have now to host others. I am very thankful for a wonderful husband who helped me clean the whole house to get ready for our guests. He is also a wonderful father who loves our little Jackson. I am also very thankful for our sweet little boy and his sweet heart. Although he often tests the limits, as most two year olds do, he is also very obedient, loves to snuggle and gives lots of hugs and kisses. I am thankful for my family and their love and support. Thank the Lord for all he has blessed us with!
